Plagiarism Screening

Manhajuna: Jurnal Hukum Islam dan Fiqih Kontemporer implements a strict policy for the prevention and detection of plagiarism to maintain the integrity and quality of its scholarly publications.

All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using Turnitin or other academically recognized software.

Plagiarism Tolerance Limit

Submitted manuscripts must have a similarity index below 20%. The editor reserves the right to reject a manuscript immediately if the similarity level exceeds the specified threshold or indicates substantial plagiarism.

Forms of Plagiarism
Plagiarism that is not tolerated in Manhajuna: Jurnal Hukum Islam dan Fiqih Kontemporer includes, but is not limited to, the following forms:

  1. Word-for-Word Plagiarism
    The author uses words, phrases, or sentences from another author’s work exactly without proper citation or acknowledgment.
  2. Plagiarism of Ideas or Sources
    The author uses ideas, concepts, theories, or arguments from others without providing appropriate acknowledgment or citation to the original source.
  3. Plagiarism of Authorship
    The author claims authorship of a scholarly work that is wholly or substantially produced by another person.
  4. Self-Plagiarism
    Self-plagiarism includes publishing the same or very similar articles in more than one journal, as well as reusing previous work without meaningful modification.
    Reuse of one’s own work is only permitted when it results in a new contribution with substantive value, where the previous work constitutes only a minor part of the new article. Thus, readers must still obtain significant new findings, analyses, or perspectives.

Sanctions
If plagiarism is detected, the manuscript will be:

  • Rejected before the review process, or
  • Retracted if it has already been published, and
  • The author may be subject to sanctions in accordance with the editorial policies of Manhajuna: Jurnal Hukum Islam dan Fiqih Kontemporer.
