Implementasi Pendekatan Living Qur’an dalam Pendidikan Islam Di Pondok Pesantren Manbaul Hikam Probolinggo

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Living Qur’an approach in Islamic education at Manbaul Hikam Islamic Boarding School, Probolinggo, focusing on its underlying principles, forms of practice, habituation strategies, and implications for students’ character development. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the boarding school’s caregivers, head of the institution, teachers, administrators, and students as informants. The data were analyzed inductively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the Living Qur’an approach is implemented by integrating the Qur’an into the educational environment and students’ daily lives through tahfidz, talaqqi, murottal, sima’an, muraja’ah, the recitation of selected surahs, collective Qur’an recitation, khataman, and Qur’anic activities conducted with the surrounding community. Structured and continuous habituation serves as a mechanism for internalizing Qur’anic values into students’ behavior. This implementation has implications for the development of akhlakul karimah, discipline, consistency in worship, respect for teachers and peers, social awareness, and a spirit of khidmah. This study confirms that the Living Qur’an can serve as an approach to Islamic education that connects Qur’anic learning with the practical application of its values in students’ everyday lives.
