Author Guidelines

A. The Guidelines for the Manuscript 

  1. The article that will be submitted in the Foreign Language Instruction Probe is a journal of language teaching published by STIT Buntet Pesantren Cirebon.
  2. The journal article's title must be intriguing and accurately convey the content (including formal objects, material objects, and context) in no more than 15 words (Font Book Antiqua, Bold, 15 pt, 1 space).

  3. The author's name, complete without a title, is written and typed below the article title. If there is more than one author, then add the next row.
  4. Originally institutions/agencies were written in the name of the institution where they work (Study Program, Faculty, University). 
  5. Email address: Write the email address, which is still active and is written under the origin of institutions/agencies.
  6. The abstract must be written in one paragraph in Indonesian with a length of a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 200 words. The abstract should be typed using Book Antiqua font, 9 pt, single spacing, and justified alignment. It must be composed in a concise, clear, and argumentative manner and should comprehensively represent the overall content of the article.

    The abstract is required to integratively include the following elements:

    1. The rationale or logical argument explaining the urgency of the issue or phenomenon under study.
    2. The research gap, namely a critical evaluation of previous studies that have examined similar issues.
    3. The research problem formulation that constitutes the main focus of the study.
    4. The type of research as well as the locus or context employed to address the research problem.
    5. The process or techniques of data collection used in the study.
    6. The steps or methods of data analysis
    7. Novel findings that are significant and relevant to the research focus.
    8. Recommendations for future studies, including policy implications, conceptual development, methodological approaches, or acknowledgment of research limitations.

    The abstract must not contain citations, tables, figures, or unexplained abbreviations.

    Keywords: Keywords consist of a minimum of three and a maximum of five terms that reflect the main concepts of the study. Keywords should be typed using Book Antiqua font, 9 pt, single spacing, and justified alignment and separated by semicolons.
  7. Keywords: 3-5-word keywords.
  8. The systematics of writing the article can be seen in the template.
  9. The introduction consists of the urgency of research, supporting facts from previous studies, gap analysis, research status, the novelty of research, and research objectives. Written in one chapter without a subtitle.
  10. Research methods consist of research design, population, and sample, data source, data collection technique, and data analysis technique. It is written in paragraph form.
  11. Results and discussion presented are important data obtained from the results of data collection in the field (test results, questionnaires, interviews, documents, etc.). The results of the research can be supplemented with tables, images, or graphs to clarify the results of the research. Avoid presenting similar data in separate tables. All tables, images, and graphs must be centered and numbered sequentially. For qualitative research, the results section contains detailed sections in the form of sub-topics that are directly related to the focus of research and categories. The discussion in the article aims to: (1) answer the problem formulation and research questions; (2) show how the findings were obtained; (3) interpreting findings; (4) linking research findings with established knowledge structures; and (5) raising new theories or modifying existing theories. In this section of the discussion must contain the benefits of the results of the study, not the repetition. The analysis must answer the stated gaps.
  12. Conclusions presented briefly, narrative, and conceptual that describes the research findings and their effects. Avoid using numbering and symbols (bullet and numbering).
B. The Guidelines for Citation and References
  1. All the served data or quotes in the article taken from the other author articles should attach the reference sources.
  2. Writing citations and bibliographies should use application management references such as Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero, or applications in MS Word.
  3. Writing citations and bibliographies using APA format (American Psychological Association) by using the innote writing technique.
  4. All references used must be taken from the main source (national and international reputable scientific journals indexed by SCOPUS, Web of Science, and SINTA), and at least 80% of the reference amount must be used.
  5. Number of references: at least 30 references.
  6. References used should be published in the last 10 years. Wikipedia, personal blogs, and nonscientific websites are not allowed to be used as references.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
