Author Guidelines

1. Scope and Focus of the Journal
Tamtin: The Journal of Community Empowerment and Service accepts scholarly articles in the form of community service outcomes and applied conceptual studies related to community empowerment and development, including:

  • Community empowerment in the social sector
  • Community service based on religious values
  • Community-based educational development
  • Community economic empowerment
  • Environmental management and conservation
  • Strengthening local culture in community development
  • Research-based community service innovations
  • Models and strategies of community development

Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration in other journals.

2. General Manuscript Requirements

  • Manuscript length: 4,000–8,000 words (including tables and references)
  • Paper size: A4, 3 cm margins
  • Font: Book Antiqua, single spacing
  • Language: Indonesian
  • Abstract: Indonesian and English
  • Manuscript format: single column

3. Manuscript Structure

a. Title and Author Identity

  • Title: maximum 15 words, clear and specific
  • Reflects the problem, program, and community service context
  • Author names without academic titles
  • Institutional affiliation and email must be provided
  • Corresponding author marked with (*)

b. Abstract and Keywords

  1. Abstract:
  • Written in one paragraph (150–200 words)
  • Book Antiqua 9 pt, single spacing, justified alignment
  • Must include:
    • Urgency of the community issue
    • Objectives of the activity
    • Implementation methods
    • Results and impact
    • Novelty of the program
  • Must not contain citations, tables, or figures
  1. Keywords:
  • Minimum 3 and maximum 5 keywords
  • Separated by semicolons (;)

c. Introduction
Written systematically (adapted from the CARS model), including:

  • Background and urgency of the community issue
  • Review of previous programs/studies
  • Needs analysis or service gap
  • Objectives of the community service activity

d. Method (Implementation Method)
The method section must be written narratively and systematically, including:

  • Type and approach of community service
  • Location and target participants
  • Stages of program implementation
  • Data collection techniques (observation, interviews, documentation, etc.)
  • Evaluation techniques and impact analysis
    Authors are encouraged to include a flowchart of activities.

e. Results and Discussion

  1. Results:
    Presented factually and analytically, including:
  • Description of activity implementation
  • Key findings in the field
  • Supporting and inhibiting factors
  • Impact of the program on the community
  1. Discussion:
    Structured argumentatively, including:
  • Interpretation of results
  • Reflection on program success
  • Comparison with previous programs/research
  • Conceptual and practical implications
  • Recommendations for program development

f. Conclusion
Written in 2–3 paragraphs, including:

  • Summary of results and program achievements
  • Contribution to community empowerment
  • Limitations and recommendations for further development

4. Data Visualization
Authors are encouraged to use:

  • Tables
  • Figures
  • Activity documentation
  • Infographics
  • Direct quotations from interviews

Each visual element must include:

  • Number
  • Title
  • Source
  • Clear description

5. Additional Statements

  • Conflict of Interest Statement (mandatory)
  • Author Contribution Statement (optional)
  • Funding Information (if applicable)

6. References

  • Minimum of 25 references
  • 80% must be primary sources
  • Published within the last 10 years
  • Use APA Style 7th Edition
  • Reference management tools such as Mendeley or Zotero are recommended

7. Review Process
Tamtin applies a double-blind peer review process with the following stages:

    1. Initial screening by the editor
    2. Review by at least two reviewers
    3. Revision by the author
    4. Final decision by the editor
