Abstract

ABSTRACT: This community service program was initiated due to the limited implementation of English literacy learning at TK Aisyiyah 11 Palembang. Many children still faced challenges in recognizing basic English vocabulary, following simple instructions, and participating confidently in classroom activities. Simultaneously, essential character values such as discipline, responsibility, cooperation, empathy, and respect for others had not yet been fully integrated into daily learning routines. To address these needs, the program aimed to enhance early English literacy while fostering positive character development through engaging and developmentally appropriate activities. The implementation applied an educative-participatory approach using thematic songs, interactive storytelling, picture-based vocabulary cards, and educational games. These activities encouraged children to listen attentively, repeat words, respond to simple expressions, move actively, and interact with peers in meaningful contexts. Observations and evaluations indicated notable improvements: children could recognize more vocabulary, responded more willingly to English prompts, and participated more actively in classroom interactions. Additionally, positive social behaviours, including cooperation and mutual respect, became more evident during learning sessions. The innovation of this program lies in its integrated model, combining songs, stories, visual aids, and games, effectively promoting both language skills and character development in early childhood education.
